This is an 8 Days Nyungwe, Akagera and Volcanoes national park safari that will give you a blend of activities and attractions at all these three national parks in Rwanda. They are all located in different parts of Rwanda like for instance volcanoes national park in the Northwestern region of Rwanda, Akagera in the Eastern region and Nyungwe in the south western part of Rwanda.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1 :Arrival at Kigali Airport and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
On your arrival at Kigali Airport, you will meet a guide who will take you for a city tour to Kimironko market and Kigali genocide with an enroute lunch at a hotel in Kigali.
After the lunch breakfast, you will set off to Nyungwe National park and you will choose an accommodation of your preference and you check in. You will later on have dinner and have some rest.

Day 2 : Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
On the 2nd day of the 8 days Nyungwe, Akagera and Volcanoes national park safari, you will participate in a chimpanzee trek after breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters. You will head into Nyungwe forest for a chimpanzee trek and get to spend 1 hour with these primates after several hours of looking for them. You will then head to the lodge after sharing moments with the chimpanzees and other wildlife you might have come across in the forest. You will have lunch at the lodge and then you head to the headquarters of the park fir another briefing.
You will set off for a canopy walk at the bridge and you will also be rewarded with another blend of wonderful experiences like the views of the park including Nyungwe forest and the wildlife. You will then head to the lodge after this 2 hours experience. You will have dinner and you retire to bed at night
Day 3 : Birding and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will have breakfast on the 3rd day and guide will take you to the headquarters fir briefing and then you head for a birding tour in the various birding trails in Nyungwe National Park. You will spot various bird species as you trek through the birding trails in Nyungwe which include karambi trail, bigugu trail, kamiranzonvu trail and many more. After the birding experience, you will be transferred to lodge, have lunch at your own pace and then check out of the lodge
A guide will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park and you stay there for the night with dinner being availed at the lodge where you will choose to sleep.

Day 4 : Gorilla trekking and hike to Dian Fossey
On the 4th day of the 8 days Nyungwe, Akagera and Volcanoes national park safari, you will leave the lodge very early in the morning after breakfast. You will head fir a gorilla trek after receiving guidelines at the park headquarters. You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas after tracing where they ate. You will meet a habituated gorilla family in a group of not more than 8 people. You will get the required details from the guides about the gorillas and you will capture moments with the gorillas and then you will be transferred to the lodge have dinner and relax for some time
You will get transferred to the park headquarters for briefing and then you hike to Dian Fossey Tomb where you will have a glimpse at the tomb of Dian Fossey and you also get the details about the gorillas that she dedicated her life to protect. You will then head back to the lodge as you spot animals and birds as you are walking through the trails. You will in the evening have dinner and head to bed.
Day 5 : Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Akagera National Park
On the 5th day of the safari, you will availed with breakfast early in the morning and you will follow the guide fir briefing at the headquarters of the park. After briefing, you will go for golden monkey trek of which you will cone across several animals, birds and tree species as you search fir the golden monkeys. These playful primates can be spotted following the traces they leave behind while swinging on trees. You will have an hour with them and the guide will transfer you to the lodge and you have your lunch
You will embark on the journey to Akagera National Park after checking out of the lodge and you will get an accommodation where to stay at Akagera once you arrive. You will settle in , have dinner and head for your night rest.

Day 6 : Morning game drive and a boat cruise
On the 6th day, you will have breakfast and head fir briefing at the Park headquarters where you will set off5frin with the ranger guide for a morning game drive. As the animals rise from their habitats, you will be able to spot a number of them and other views around the park. You will see the animals walking around searching for what to feed on for their breakfast. The morning game drive takes about 5 hours and after the guide will lead you to the lodge you rest and then you will be served lunch.
In the late afternoon like around 2:30pm, a guide will pick you from the lodge and transfer you to the headquarters of the park for a briefing session and you go for a boat cruise at lake Ihema where you will have to see the birds and animals that live at this lake plus the beauty of the landscapes around it. After the boat cruise, you will then return with the guide to the lodge and wait for dinner. When dinner is served, you will eat and then retire to bed.
Day 7 : Cultural tour and a nocturnal game drive
On the second last day of the 8 days Nyungwe, Akagera and Volcanoes national park safari, you will have breakfast and set off with the guide to the park offices. You will be briefed and then transferred to hemure refugee village for a cultural tour. You will get to exchange greetings with the locals and take you through the community initiatives that are done at thus place. They will teach you about their traditions, cultures and their way of life and then you will head back to the lodge for a lunch meal.
The guide will transfer you from the lodge after lunch and having some rest to the park headquarters and you will be briefed and then you set off with the guide at 6:30am for a nocturnal game drive. You will see a number of carnivores and other animals in the park that you weren’t able to see during the day and some of them are the lions, hyenas, nightjars, leopards and many more. The guide will then transfer you to the lodge for dinner and you sleep.
Day 8 : Transfer to Kigali airport
On the final day of the 8 days Nyungwe, Akagera and Volcanoes national park safari, you will have your breakfast at the lodge and you will check out of the lodge at Akagera National Park and the guide will transfer you to Kigali airport for your flight.
