This is a 4 days Nyungwe canopy walk adventure that will begin and end in Kigali. This Rwanda safari will take you to Nyungwe National Park, where you will be involved in several activities which will reward you with cultural experiences and nature and wildlife sights. You will engage in a chimpanzee trek, a canopy walk, a hiking experience and a city tour in Kigali.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali Airport and a Kigali City Tour
You will be welcomed by our company representative when you arrive at Kigali Airport. You will discuss the safari, and after that, you will leave Kigali Airport and go on a city tour. You will begin with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will gain insight into what took place during the 1994 Rwanda genocide. genocide. You will also see the remains of the 1994 Rwandan genocide that are kept at this place and also learn about the significance of this place.
When you are done exploring the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the guide will take you to a restaurant where you will have lunch. After lunch, you will go to the Rwanda Art Museum, where you will have views of the numerous art pieces kept there. These art pieces bring out the history of Rwanda and are designed by the Rwandese artists. The guide will drive you to a hotel after the visit to the Rwanda Art Museum. You will check into the hotel when you arrive, and you will have dinner before retiring to bed.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park and Canopy Walk
Early in the morning, you will be served breakfast at the hotel in Kigali. Once you are done with breakfast, you will set off to Nyungwe National Park. The drive will take several hours, and upon arrival, you will check into a lodge where you will have lunch and some rest.
Later in the day, the guide will pick you up from the lodge, and you will go for a canopy walk. You will first be briefed, and then you start the canopy adventure. This Nyungwe canopy walk will take approximately 2 hours as you spot the forest from the bridge, primates, birds, and many more. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Hiking Experience
You will have breakfast at the lodge and afterwards leave the lodge. You will set off to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will meet the park wardens to be briefed about the guidelines to follow while on the Rwanda chimpanzee trekking, and then you will set off with an armed ranger guide. Depending on the location and movements of the chimpanzees, you will spend about 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for them. You will have one hour with them after spotting them. You will, after observing them, head back to the lodge
You will have lunch at the lodge and afterwards go for a hiking experience in Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will be accompanied by an armed ranger guide as you follow the hiking trails that will offer you views of birds, primates and many more wildlife species at close range. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 4: Departure to Kigali Airport
Early in the morning, you will be served breakfast at the lodge, and you will have it at your own pace. After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge. The guide will pick you up from the lodge and drive you to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will head to Kimironko Market for a market visit. At this local market, you will meet the vendors and interact with them as they show you the commodities they sell. Some of these commodities include clothes, art pieces, fabrics, jewellery, handbags, fresh products and many more. After buying some of your choice, you will go to a restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will be dropped off at Kigali Airport.
