The 1 day Rwanda chimpanzee trekking safari is a short Rwanda adventure to Nyungwe National Park, where you will spend an hour with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat and trek for several hours. You will also have a cultural experience at Iby’iwacu Cultural Village before returning to Kigali

Detailed itinerary
A professional driver guide from Chopper Tour and Travel will find you at a lodge in Kigali as early as 5 am, in the morning, and you go through the safari details. After the briefing, you will set off to Nyungwe National Park. The journey will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. Upon arrival, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will meet the park guides to brief you about the guidelines to follow while on the chimpanzee trekking and what to expect. You will be given an armed ranger guide to escort you. You will begin the trek into the forest, and it will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours to spot the chimpanzees. After spotting them, you will spend one hour with the chimpanzees. You will watch them feed, play and much more. You will take pictures of the chimpanzees and head back to the headquarters.
You will exit the park and head to a nearby restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will visit Iby’iwacu for a cultural experience. You will meet guides who will take you through the culture and traditions of the Rwandese. You will see how they prepare their local dishes and many more. You will then be taken back to Kigali and be dropped off at a hotel, thus ending the 1 day Rwanda chimpanzee trekking safari.
