Detailed itinerary for the 5 days Rwanda Primate Tour
Day 1: Transfer from a hotel in Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
You will link up with a professional driver guide at a hotel in Kigali who will give you details about the safari, and then you set off. You will head to Volcanoes National Park, and that takes approximately 2 hours. You will have a stopover at Musanze Caves for an exploration of the history attached to these caves. You will spot bats hanging upside down in the caves. You will have views of different sights at these caves as you learn about the history; for example, they were a crowning ground for the kings of Rwanda and many more. You will then head to Volcanoes National Park.
You will check into a lodge and have lunch when you get to Volcanoes National Park. You will relax at the lodge after lunch, and in the evening, you will have dinner, and you will retire to bed.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
You will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge, and after that, the guide will transfer you from the lodge and take you for a briefing at the park headquarters. You will go through the guidelines to follow while gorilla trekking, and you will then set off for a Rwanda gorilla trek in the company of a guide. Depending on the location of the gorillas, you will search for them for approximately 30 minutes to 7 hours. You will spend one hour with them in their habitat. You will take pictures of the gorillas as you watch them feed, play, breastfeed and do much more. The guide will lead you back to the lodge after gorilla trekking.
After having lunch at the lodge, you will leave the lodge with a guide, and you will head to Iby’iwacu cultural village. Upon arrival, you will meet with the guides who will take you through the history, traditions and culture of the Rwandese people. You will watch them entertain you through their cultural dance and also get to see them prepare their local dishes, and you will have the opportunity to engage in their activities. You will then head back to the lodge and relax. You will have dinner and you will retire to bed

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
You will have breakfast at the lodge in the morning, and afterwards, you will set off for a golden monkey trek. You will head to the park headquarters to be briefed about golden monkey trekking; you will be accompanied by an armed ranger guide to search for the golden monkeys. Finding the golden monkeys will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours, and this depends on their location. You will only have 1 hour with the golden monkeys in their habitat. You will watch them feed, play, and breastfeed, among other things. The guide will transfer you back to the lodge.
At the lodge, you will have lunch and then check out of the lodge. After checking out, the guide will drive you to Nyungwe National Park. You will check into a lodge and settle in. You will have dinner, then go to bed.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk
You will be served breakfast, and after that, you will go for a briefing. You will then go for the Rwanda chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park. You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees after spotting them. You will have to head back to the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a canopy walk, which will take about 2 hours, while you are enjoying views of wildlife at the suspended bridge. You will have dinner, and you will retire to bed when you get back to the lodge.

Day 5: Depart for Kigali
You will be served breakfast at the lodge in the morning. You will check out of the lodge after breakfast. The guide will drive you to Kigali and leave you at a hotel.
