Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest and Canopy Walk Adventure
You will start this Rwanda safari with a pickup from a hotel in Kigali, and you will head to Nyungwe National Park. The journey will take about 5 to 6 hours to get there. Upon arrival, you will check into a lodge and settle in. You will be served lunch, and in the afternoon, after enjoying lunch, you will head out for the famous canopy walk experience.
You will have the Nyungwe canopy walk experience at the suspended bridge that is 70 metres above the forest floor; the canopy walkway stretches 160 metres long and offers panoramic views over the treetops. From above, you may spot monkeys swinging on branches, colourful birds and many more. The canopy walk experience will take approximately 2 hours. The guide will return you to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will rise from bed early in the morning and have breakfast. After having breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. Once you are done with the briefing on the guidelines to follow while you are chimpanzee trekking, you will set off with an armed ranger guide to Nyungwe Forest to search for chimpanzees. You will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for them. After finding them, you will spend one hour with them as you watch them feed, groom, play, interact and much more. After an hour with them, you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After having lunch, you will check out of the lodge and head to Volcanoes National Park. You will arrive in the evening and check into a lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience and transfer back to Kigali
After having breakfast early in the morning, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking and registration before starting the gorilla trekking. You will be assigned a Rwanda gorilla family to find and given an armed ranger guide to accompany you. You will set off to the forest to find the gorillas. You will take about 2 to 6 hours to find the gut, depending on the gorilla location. After finding them, you will spend one hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat as you observe them carry out their daily activities like feeding, playing and many more. You will capture pictures of the gorillas and then return to the lodge.
You will have lunch at the lodge and afterwards check out. The driver guide will drive you back to Kigali. You will be dropped off at a hotel.
