This is a 3 days Nyungwe canopy walk and Chimpanzee trekking safari that will begin with a city tour in Kigali to the Rwanda art museum and the Kigali genocide memorial. This Rwanda safari will continue with a transfer to Nyungwe National Park, where you will have a canopy walk and chimpanzee trek. You will then depart for Kigali Airport on the last day, with a short visit to Kimironko market.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali Airport to Nyungwe National Park
On the first day of the 3 days Nyungwe canopy walk and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will connect with our company representative guide at Kigali Airport, and you will exchange greetings. You will then leave the airport and go for a city tour at the Rwanda art museum, where you will get the opportunity to see the various art pieces designed by the Rwandese artists that bring out the history, traditions and culture of Rwanda. You will then leave the museum and head to a hotel for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a visit to the Kigali genocide memorial to learn about the history of the 1994 Rwanda genocide and to also see the remains of those who were engaged in the genocide. You will then start the journey to Nyungwe National Park. You will arrive in the evening, and you will be checked into the hotel that was booked. You will have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk
On the second last day of the 3 days Nyungwe canopy walk and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will have an early morning breakfast, and you will leave the lodge and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. The guide will then accompany you to the forest for chimpanzee trekking. You will have encounters with several animals and birds as you search for the chimpanzees. You are most likely to spend about 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for them, depending on their location. You will then have an hour with them after spotting them, and you will observe how they play, feed and much more. You will be allowed to take pictures, and then you will go back to the lodge. You will be served lunch at the lodge.
The guide will pick you up from the lodge in the afternoon, and you will go for a canopy walk at the suspended bridge. The suspended bridge is about 160m long and 70m high. You will spot Nyungwe forest from the top of the bridge, and you will also spot several primates and birds. You will spend about 2 hours conducting the canopy walk. The guide will then return you to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali Airport
On the last day of the 3 days Nyungwe canopy walk and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will have an early morning breakfast, and then, you will check out of the lodge. The guide will pick you up from the lodge and head back to Kigali. You will have a visit to Kimironko market, where you will buy souvenirs and many more. You will then head to a hotel in Kigali for lunch. The guide will drive you to Kigali Airport after lunch, and you will catch your flight.
